FAQS

The mission of Grunwald Publishing is to preserve and share the rich cultural heritage of Belarus by making the best of its classic literature accessible to English-speaking readers worldwide.

Grunwald is privately held, funded and led by Olya Ianovskaia, a Belarusian-Canadian marketing professional who also holds a graduate degree in Socio-Cultural Anthropology. Olya oversees the translation and publishing process, working closely with professional editors and proofreaders to ensure the accuracy, flow and quality of the finished work.

We focus on translating and publishing literary works written in Belarusian, about Belarus, or by Belarusians. Our primary interest is in early to mid-20th century prose, 19th-century ethnographies, and poetry from earlier periods. We are currently working on translations of selected  works by Jan Barshcheuski, Maksim Bahdanovich, and Mikola Husouski for publication.

Our books are available both in print and digital formats through major online retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indigo, Everand, Apple Books and more. Libraries and bookstores can also order our titles in bulk through Lightning Source (LS). You can also purchase from us directly. We strive to make our books easily accessible to both individual readers and institutions.
