GRUNWALD PUBLISHING
Belarusian literature
for a global audience.
About Us
Grunwald Publishing is a small, self-funded initiative dedicated to bringing the rich heritage of Belarusian literature to English-speaking readers worldwide. Our mission is to preserve and share the cultural legacy of Belarus through meticulously crafted translations that honor the original beauty and depth of the original texts.
At Grunwald Publishing, we believe that literature is a bridge between cultures. For this reason, we strive to make the most beloved Belarusian stories, poetry and prose available to libraries, educational institutions, and readers across the globe.
Our inaugural publication is the translation of “Two Souls” by Maksim Haretski (1919). Our plans for 2024 include translations of iconic works by Jan Barshcheuski, Maksim Bahdanovich, and Mikola Husouski, among others.
We are driven by a deep respect for the art the written word and a desire to contribute to the global literary landscape. If you’d like to support our work, make a recommendation for a new translation, or would like to order our books for your local library, education institution or bookshop – please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
