The mission of Grunwald Publishing is to preserve and share the rich cultural heritage of Belarus by making the best of its classic literature accessible to English-speaking readers worldwide.
Who is the team behind Grunwald Publishing?
Grunwald is privately held, funded and led by Olya Ianovskaia, a Belarusian-Canadian marketing professional who also holds a graduate degree in Socio-Cultural Anthropology. Olya oversees the translation and publishing process, working closely with professional editors and proofreaders to ensure the accuracy, flow and quality of the finished work.
What types of books does Grunwald Publishing focus on?
We focus on translating and publishing literary works written in Belarusian, about Belarus, or by Belarusians. Our primary interest is in early to mid-20th century prose, 19th-century ethnographies, and poetry from earlier periods. We are currently working on translations of selected works by Jan Barshcheuski, Maksim Bahdanovich, and Mikola Husouski for publication.
