WHY GRUNWALD
For most of the last century, Belarusian literature was censored at home and rarely translated abroad. Today, many Belarusian writers work in exile, with nowhere at home to publish.
So we do two things: we translate classics and foundational works into English, many for the first time, and we publish contemporary Belarusian authors in their own language. With Belarusian culture under pressure at home, getting it onto shelves abroad is an act of resistance.
